About Standing Passengers

Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 7 amβ7 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. No phone number is listed for this business, so the Google Maps link on this page is the best route for directions and any contact details Google has on file. More information is available on its website, standingpassengerscoffeelounge.com.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 465 reviews, which is a strong result for a coffee shop in Chicago and suggests consistent service.
Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Tasty Cafe Tola empanadas and breakfast tacos. Super yummy Bennison's bakery pastry. If that's not enough, pop in to take a look at "Other people's records" a small carefully curated selection of vinyl records. The staff is awesome, they make great BIG sandwiches and have a knack for small talk. Plus they are always playing a dope movie on the screen in front of the cashier. I love this place.

Such a cool cafΓ©, although there are almost too many things going on inside. π The space is packed with retro decorations, and there is a whole gaming area in the back with old-school gamesβincluding an actual Pac-Man machine. They also have plenty of outlets and Wi-Fi, so it should be a great place to workβ¦ assuming you do not get completely distracted by the games. Menu at the end. π Apple Latte βοΈβοΈβοΈ (around $6.25) The coffee itself was decentβa classic dark roast that was actually pretty enjoyable. They also sell their beans. The syrup, however, was not doing much. How do you add apple syrup to a latte and somehow end up with almost no apple flavor? π I ordered it less sweet, but it was still fairly sugary without delivering the flavor it promised. A regular latte probably would have been better. π1458 W Chicago Ave, Chicago, IL 60642, USA

Standing Passengers is one of the most unique shops in general that I've visited, and a particularly high quality coffee shop. The eclectic punk vibe is energizing without being overstimulating, and the TVs with vintage gaming consoles are a really fun feature of the shop. I haven't tried any of the food beyond the maple bacon donut which was so delicious that it changed my mind about bacon in desserts.

Long line on a Saturday morning but it actually moved fast. Drinks are worth the wait! Maple latte, dirty chai and the cold brew were our picks. Thereβs records and vintage games to play as well which fun.

This place is a real hidden gem in the heart of west town. The vibes are top notch (10/10), fully packed with great urban aesthetics, retro video games and dis (yeah, djs) this place is worth it just for that. Besides vibes, the coffee is really good and the drink menu is awesome! Their maple latte has the perfect balance of sweetness and coffee-ness that you will like for sure. They also carry do-rite donuts which are always great!! The place is small and has limited seating options so, be patient and plan your visit!
